The regatta is open to all keel boats that are owned or skippered by members in good standing from clubs of the Albemarle Sound Sailing Association; Colington Yacht Club, Pasquotank River Yacht Club, Osprey Yacht Club, and Edenton Yacht Club.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it to the Fleet Captain or bringing it to the welcome reception and registration at 1700 on the lower level of the Colington Harbour club house.
The course will be set in the area between the 2KH and MG navigation aids and 1.5 nm WSW of Rhodom’s Point on Colington Island.
Welcome reception and registration at 1700 on Friday, September 21
Skipper’s meeting 0800 on Saturday September 22
First race will begin at 1000
2 races for each class are planned.
There shall be 4 classes
Class A spinnaker
Class A non-spinnaker
The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2017 and the prescriptions of the US Sailing will govern the regatta, except as theses are changed by the Sailing Instructions.
RACE FORMAT AND COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:
The course will be set for Triangle-Windward-Leeward with windward, leeward, and gybe marks. All marks shall be port rounding.
Competitors are warned that within the area of racing there may be waters charted at 5 feet or less and/or there may be other hazards to navigation such as crab pots. Navigation is solely the responsibility of the individual boats, owners, and skippers.
Races will be started using rule 26
Rule 30.1 (the around the end rule) applies to all races without the use of a separate signal
Any boat not finishing within 60 minutes of the lead boat shall be given a finishing score of DNF
Each individual race will be scored using time on time scoring. Places will be determined using the low point system in Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing
Any boat protesting another shall adhere to rule 61 and all of its subparts.
As a courtesy to the Committee Boat and the boat being protested, please announce your intention to protest via the VHF radio addressed to the Race Committee as soon as is reasonably possible.
NOTICES TO COMPETITORS:
The Race Committee boat shall monitor and broadcast on Channel 68.
All vessels must comply with USCG safety requirements
Racing may be cancelled in the case of a Small Craft Warning issued by the NWS.

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
POST RACE: 1700: drinks at the clubhouse, 1800: dinner.
